Guru Casmo I'm sputtering my java here when you say anything about what the aircraft "wants to do"....... my ex-honey is an ultra cool chic but she didn't get "animating the inanimate". Growing up on the farm we'd be saying the PTO doesn't feel like driving the baler, or whatever tractor or wagon or backhoe "just ain't in the mood today". Actually, she's an attorney and ruthless on the Scrabble board, but the idea of an inorganic object having a psyche bugged her. And now back to our regularly scheduled program...... this episode is a blessing to have found. When I start mission in-flight, do all the arming and acquisition settings, jump to gunner 'pit and set up, when I go back to pilot seat the flight controls are akimbo. Only a "reset trim" command restores sanity. ALSO, I set up cursor keys for trim in flight. It works so well for F-18 and A-10c with short taps but in Apache the same method has enormous effect AND is very sensitive...... the slightest stick motion will unset the trim I set.

I'm here because of the Covey 41 mission. I've watched this 4 times now and it's the best instruction I've gotten on AIM-7 usage. Thank you Casmo.

How intervalometers work: It spaces release pulses in fractions of seconds. If you know the length of the target area (or runway) and your speed you can set interval to cover the target. The calculator on your desktop has conversion from knots to feet per second (or meters per second), so it's easy to calculate the optimal release interval

The kiowa warrior looks cool, but I plan on getting the apache during the summersale. Who knows, if I really like it maybe I'll buy this one too!

should i buy a joystick for this or can i get by with a mouse n keyboard i’ve been playing it for a bit and it either tilts to the right or left or does a 360 spin n im no pilot so im just stuck staring at my ai copilot

Please make a vid about entering jtac coordinates to make target points and buddy lasing. When lasing i only ever get coordinates for my location not the target location.. no idea what im doing wrong. Everyone else that ive talked with that "knows" ..soon realizes they are getting their own location as well😅

How the last few years showed how stupid such a scenario would have been is obvious. Nowadays it's downright criminally unrealistic. One guy with a Grail in that forest right next to you - Mission over! Even a AK could get you before you know what hit ya. Also before you reach that SAM you may have to run through a gauntlet of other defenses. No one with a clear mind would put his SAM right on the Frontline with no forward defense in form of shoulder fired ATGM, Manpad. In Afghanistan that wasn't so much of a problem - They didn't have SAM's or Manpads. In a Cold War Scenario you'd lose half of the Squadron before you reach a SAM with this kind of behaviour. But it's fun, nonetheless :)

Casmo great video. Few questions for ya. What map and the Chinook FARP, what units do you use for them. I have FARP templates already but really like the Chinook ones ever since you showed it awhile back. Thank you in advance.

Grass entering the cockpit when on the ground feels like it should be such an easy fix. Some sort of simple edge detection at the underside of player vehicles which despawns the grass if it's clipping through.

The RWR is hilarious and darn, those bombs are scary.

Hell yeah, this is the kind of mission work I love to see! One great thing with the Apache is going "Why shouldn't I have a FARP 15 minutes from the targets?" and then giving myself a beautiful jumping off point so I can quickly take off and then weave through some trees and rivers to get to my attack point. Can't wait to finally sort out my constant crashes and try it online with people in the Kiowa and other Apaches.

Would you ever use mounted gun and unguided rockets on night missions? It needs a laser pointer aim device. ;o)
